On the expiry of study permit student cannot work or study until a new permit is issued.. You need to extend your study permit in order to maintain your student status, and continue studying and working on and off campus in Canada. Extension can be applied online or by paper application. It is recommended you should apply for renewal at least 2-3 months before your current permit expires. A person who applied for extension, will be able to remain in Canada and continue studying and working under implied status until IRCC has made a decision with respect to your application.
It is advisable to apply for the extension well in advance before your permit expires. However, even if you have missed the deadline and your permit has already expired, we can help.
